Questions galore on the Bhawal Sannyasi case and Adolf Hitler, so here goes:
i. How long had Dhaka held on to the Bhawal Sannyasi-Reich Chancellery blackmail?
Antara was not sure but her parents had a belated honeymoon (they got married in May 1969, travelled across northern India in Oct 1969) and it was a scary experience, it had seemed to them that the Nazi Holocaust was an unfinished episode, that it had merely stopped, it was not over.
ii. Was Dhaka offended that Ajit-Anjali took that trip?
Very much so. Dhaka thought that Ajit-Anjali were trying to follow in on the footsteps of Anjali's parents, who had travelled across northern India in the 1940s and 50s, trying to gather information on the Holocaust, to check why and how far Hitler had deviated from what Grigori Zinoviev had predicted Hitler would do, in the late 1920s.
iii. What was a memorable anecdote from Ajit-Anjali's travels?
Anjali always mentioned that the train was late when they returned to Kolkata, all the shops were shut, and for dinner, they had rice, boiled eggs, mashed potatoes and butter. Dhaka may have found out somehow (the landlord was a cop), and it assumed that American defence firms, BT's House and much harassed-financiers were encouraging Ajit-Anjali to further probe the Nazi Holocaust.
iv. What happened as a result?
In December 1969, so less than a month after Ajit-Anjali had returned to Kolkata, a bomb exploded at an agricultural bank in Milan. Dhaka knew that the particular Milan bank probably kept details of the 1927 lease, working out how much it needed changes, based on how compromised the Vatican was over the Nazi Holocaust.
The bombing at the Milan bank in 1969 was the end of the 1927 lease, those governments still supporting it were misleading people.
v. Was Dhaka suspected? Did it claim rewards for the above?
It was difficult to prove but after the Milan bank bombing, several Agency officials became committed to Dhaka for the rest of their lives. These were the ones that recruited Chetla in the mid-1990s or helped the Tagores or even maintained the worldwide illicit financing channels.
vi. Were there similar attacks in Italy around the same time?
There had been an explosion at a Rome bank, on the very day the Milan bank was attacked. Dhaka, however, was pleased that Indians were not furious at Krupp given what it had done at the Nuremberg Trials, that Indians allowed Krupp to operate in their country, that Indians were fine if the legit lease heir was altogether cut down in favour of Holocaust perps.
"A country which didn't care about its own history, lets Krupp in, adores celebrities who were Krupp agents," Dhaka had apparently said. As discussed in a previous post, the presence of Krupp in India weakened the Indian military.
There's going to be a lot of chatter about Bangladeshis annexing various parts of India (as Fazlur Rehman remarked recently) in the coming weeks, given they were also influential within Buckingham Palace.
