Costs and Benefits (18): The new shop in town

Now that we were all living under the glory of the Prussian legit lease, it was our duty to inform the Agency honchos within Times Group in New Delhi that Antara didn't win the race because the heavyweights (even the non-Communist ones) didn't support her.

It was Antara's lifetime's experience repeating itself: the heavyweights wondered if Antara was worth the risk. Antara kept thinking, "A few packets of pre-packaged information, probably from Dhaka, even if approved by the Pentagon, what if one lost the approach to both the Crusades and the Hanseatic League? How would one understand the Holy Land?"

Thus, Antara was quite satisfied in being kicked by her exalted relatives, it was not that she had to meet them anyway (Antara got the Auschwitz treatment at NS Road, she didn't like them!)

ii. Times Group/Agency honchos also needed to know that the distance between the White House staff and Antara would keep increasing by leaps and bounds, not merely because of the Trump administration's discomfort to explain the presence of Usha Vance. Why were two south Indian women so richly rewarded one after the other, why were they working together despite being from opposing political parties?

Where was the quid pro quo, was it merely mining rights to Indian businessmen in various parts of the United States? Was it for Indians to 'own' entire departments within NASA to guide/direct outer space research? As Antara had correctly understood, Indian tycoons had a vague understanding of outer space. It was surprising that they took any interest at all; egotism and outer space research were opposed to each other, the first thing you'd realise was how insignificant Earthlings were in the greatness of the Universe.

The Papacy assumed significance in such a context, as an intermediary between NASA and Indian businessmen, one would have to assume that not one of the three would bring up Galileo and 'Eppur si Mouve/And yet it moves'.

It was a difficult thing to say in the present context, given the tensions in the Indian subcontinent, but it was the Titanic-intelligence holders of Baluchistan province (those that work for Jim Banks) that had asked Islamabad to alert the Vatican that Austria might devise an attractive portal, some kind of an intelligence shop, to propagate its point of view. Austria would remain demure within the EU, yet its intelligence challenge would be thrown at the world at an insignificant cost.

That was Pakistan for you, that was the London-based PR firm that loved Pakistan, those were the retired Pentagon generals waiting to serve Pakistan, the narrative of a few rich men who might have drowned in a shipwreck was more important than Galileo Galilei.

And then one would have to believe that the Indian subcontinent was bursting with scientists and astronomers and astrophysics enthusiasts!! No, you want to be wealthy and sail in a garishly decorated ship, hopefully without drowning.

Anyway, it was felt that the portal was a dangerous thing, it was dispensing ideas without the burden of General Grant's Order No 11, before you knew, these ideas might be germinating across the world. A decision was thereby taken that the Vatican would ensure that Americans remained unaffected by Austrian ideas.

That was the Vatican's duty, to prevent news ways of thinking, forget history and its lessons. No wonder, Arvind Kejriwal had been an honoured guest of the Vatican.

At other times, an attractive portal dispensing Austrian ideas would have brought the British and French tycoons rushing, in case their world order was under attack. Indian women, under Malvea-Harris, would have reacted the same way.

If such a thing didn't happen, no one showed interest, it was because Person A of Baharampur and Person B of Chicago were apparently working full-time on a Holocaust that 'moved from place to place', using the fact that the United States had a steady base of Nazi war criminals.
