The torture against Antara took many forms. For example, from 2018 onwards, she was not allowed to look into a mirror, not to comb her hair nor to put some cream on her face.
On the rare occasion she stepped out with her husband, Antara would ask him, "I've combed my hair without looking, just check if it was alright." Sometimes she'd ask him, "What do I look like nowadays?"
All of the above happened because the country was going through instability episodes. When Antara saw others in Delhi, when she saw life going along as always, she had wondered.
Three years had passed, it was 2021 when Antara looked again in the mirror. A different person had stared back.
