The hills are alive...

 


...with the sound of half-truths. The 1991 trip to Darjeeling and Gangtok was so costly, it was almost equal to a government officer's salary, "what will we eat if you go on this trip?" Antara's mother had asked. Bengali girls didn't go at all, this was the Balance of Payments crisis/First Gulf War year.
